You Should Have Left is a well-crafted slow burn with delightfully disorienting cinematography. The pace isn’t slow because it’s boring, the script just has patience. The characters are set up really well. Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried are both effortlessly convincing. Most importantly it is easy to root for them because of their likability. The film is discreet and haunting. The only negative is that this is almost an exact copy of The Lodge and Vivarium, both of which came out this year. 3.5 out of 5.
