The Blair Witch Movies, Reviewed And Ranked

The Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Project (1999) is a brilliant film that has stood the test of time! It is an incredible drama (stroke horror) with an even better ending. Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez (Writer & Director) create realistic and refreshing characters – it feels so human! The character development is weak but that does not matter because the acting is just amazing and gives the characters life.

The Blair Witch Project is not the bloodcurdling found footage experience that it is meant to be! It might be better viewed as a drama about 3 people who go insane. It is one of the best films I have seen in 2020. (9.5/10)

Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2

This film is so not good that I found myself having fun whilst I watched it. It is so bad that I laughed out loud at points – it is worse than the first but still so enjoyable that I cannot trash it completely. I had fun watching it and for me that makes a film so at best I can give it a B (7/10).

Blair Witch

Blair Witch is significantly better made than Book of Shadows which is so bad that it is almost good. It is a mediocre film and whilst there are enjoyable points it does not deserve a glowing recommendation – I give it a C+ (6/10) or B- (6.5/10) at best!

Spoiler Alert

The Blair Witch Project

The ending of this film is amazing!! I loved it. It leaves a lot of room for debate hiding the fate of the three team members and making us question if the Blair Witch is even alive. I would love to hear people’s thoughts as so much is left to our own determination.

Ranking:

1. The Blair Witch Project (Best made and most enjoyable)

2. Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2 (More enjoyable then Blair Witch but the worst made).

3. Blair Witch
